This is a custom .25-06 rifle built on a 1958 model 70 standard action, serial number 438608. The rifle has custom features including a custom stock, jeweling, custom butt plate, and quick release sling swivels. There are no sights on the rifle.
Metal condition and finish - The blued bolts parts have a high polish finish, dark bluing, and some minor wear. The bottom metal is also polished, with dark bluing, and a few scratches in the floorplate. The bluing on the barrel and receiver is dark, with a few small worn spots. There are no dents, dings, or deep scratches in the receiver and barrel.
Bore - There is only minor throat wear and no notable pitting in the 25" custom barrel resulting in a rating of 9 out of 10.
The custom stock, fully bedded to the action, is superbly shaped with a straight comb and large cheek rest and made from an outstanding and highly figured blank. The custom steel butt plate has a storage compartment. The stock is fitted with an accent grip cap and quick release swivels. The finish is smooth, with a few minor dings and scratches, but no stains or cracks. The length of pull is 13&5/8".
