This is an impeccable standard rifle chambered in .270 Winchester, produced in 1958. The rifle grades in NRA excellent approaching perfect condition.
The metal grades at 98% with all original bluing and no notable blemishes or wear.
The monte carlo stock retains its original finish with no damages, bedding or other modifications. Other than a few very minor handling marks in the stock, there are no noted blemishes.
The bore of the 24" barrel is excellent with no noted problems. It grades an 10 out of 10 under borescope inspection and makes a strong case for the gun seldom if ever being fired.
All parts are correct and appear to be original to the rifle. This is a late serial number for the steel buttplate stock, which is generally regarded to have been discontinued in 1957. This is a very early 1958 production rifle with the earlier (and more desirable) steel buttplate stock. In spite of the late production date, the stock appears original to the rifle, including the correct "fingerprint" from the tang into the stock. The bolt is serial number matched to the receiver.
