This is a .270 Winchester Standard rifle built in 1953. The receiver and bolt are both marked with serial number 255252. The rifle is in NRA very good condition. 

The low comb stock with its original finish has some handling marks and a notable ding. The ding is about an inch long and is just above the trigger guard on the left side. There are no cracks, splits, repairs, or stains. The checkering is clean and crisp but with a few flat spots. The steel buttplate has some wear and shallow pitting.

The bluing is at 90%, with only minor wear, mostly on the edges and on the bolt components.  The are a few very small scratches, but no other dings, repairs, or other metal damage. Overall, the metal is in very good condition. 

The bore of the 24" barrel is rated as an 8 out of 10, with minor throat wear and some scattered pits.
