This is a 1953 Featherweight rifle that has been converted to a more modern configuration with what looks to be a Brown Precision synthetic stock and a durable Cerakote finish. The rifle came to us with some finish problems and a poorly done bedding job. We have fully reworked the rifle in our shop, including new finishes and rebedding the action into the stock.
With its featherweight metal, a clean barrel, and the synthetic stock, this rifle weighs less than 7 pounds and less than 8 with the included Leupold VARI-X III 2.5-8 scope. This rifle is complete and ready to hunt!
The stock is a low-comb synthetic stock with a Pachmayr white line recoil pad. The stock has a few wear marks but still is still in excellent condition. It appears to be a Brown Precision stock, although we cannot be certain about the maker.
The scope is a Leupold VARI-X III 2.5 -8 with a duplex reticle. While the optics are clear, the scope has a few nicks around objective housing and light ring marks from a prior installation.
The metal has been refinished with Cerakote H-154 (stainless) heat cured finish, and the original action screws have been replaced with stainless hex head screws.
The bore of the 22" barrel is excellent with no evident wear, pits, throat erosion, fouling or other issues.
It is a turnkey package that is ready to go!
