This is a 1951 standard rifle chambered in .30-06 and is in excellent condition. The receiver is marked with serial number 206448, indicating a 1951 manufacture date; the barrel is also stamped '51. The polished bolt is not marked with the serial number, but headspace has been checked to confirm the correct fitting of the bolt to the receiver.
The stock has two notable dings, both on the butt; one at the top and one on the bottom, but no cracks, splits, or repairs. The checkering sharp, clean, and crisp. The stock retains its original steel buttplate. The buttplate bluing is worn and has some light freckling.
The metal is in excellent condition, with no notable dings or gouges. The bluing is dark and even showing only minor wear in a few spots.
The bore of the 24" barrel shows almost no wear but has some light pitting, rating an 8 out of 10. Borescope verified.
