This is a rare .30-06 Springfield sightless Featherweight model 70 rifle produced in 1962. The receiver and bolt are both marked with serial number 564849. The rifle is in NRA excellent condition.
The original bluing on this rifle grades at 95%, showing almost no wear, the notable exceptions being slight wear on the bolt components and the receiver rails. The bottom metal is nearly flawless. There are no dings or other damage in the metal.
The bore has almost no throat wear but some very minor pitting, reducing the rating to a 9 out of 10. Borescope verified.
The Monte Carlo stock has an original finish. There is a small scrape on the right side, just above the checkering, but no other significant gouges, cracks, dents, oil stains, or even significant handling marks. The original checkering is clean and crisp without any flat spots or dings. The hard rubber butt plate is in excellent condition.
