This is a very clean .30-06 standard rifle made in 1958. The rifle is in the original factory configuration and is fully restored with all new finishes. This rifle grades at NRA excellent, approaching perfect condition.
The metal finishes are excellent throughout, with bluing grading at 98% with only very minor edge wear on the sharpest corners. The finishes are reblued. The work is expertly done and all parts very closely match the factory finishes. There are no scrapes nicks rubs, scratches or other noteworthy blemishes. The action is all original parts with no modifications. The bore has been inspected by borescope and appears new with no visible wear, pits, erosion, fouling or other evidence of use. We grade the bore a 10 out of 10. The bolt is correct with serial number present and matched to the receiver.
The stock is a particularly dark piece of American walnut with exceptional figure - unusual for the late production year. The stock has been refinished and is in perfect condition. There are no handling marks, cracks, chips, stains, bedding or other issues. The checkering has no blemishes and is still well defined, but is not crisp and may have been lightly smoothed to suit a past owner. The factory buttplate is present.
