This is a 1947 Super Grade rifle chambered in .30-06. The receiver is a "transition era" receiver, having the cloverleaf tang of the pre-war rifles combined with the smooth bridge with factory drilled and tapped holes of the later models. The rifle is in NRA very good to excellent condition. All correct Super Grade parts are present and appear to be factory matched. All finishes are original other than the stock.
The stock has a low-comb stock and a red recoil pad. The stock was badly flaking with a deteriorating Winchester pad when it arrived. The full stock has been restored by the pre64Win team, including a replacement Winchester trademark pad, and is now in like-new condition.
The metal is in very good condition, with some minor bluing wear on the factory finishes, and a few small scratches on the barrel.
The bore of the 24" barrel is in excellent condition with almost no evident wear. There are no pits, throat erosion, or other issues.
