This is a beautiful .30-06 Super Grade rifle produced in 1957. The rifle retains its original factory finishes with no added holes or other modifications, other than the possible exception of a Winchester recoil pad. It grades in NRA excellent condition.
The stock is in excellent condition with no cracks or stains and just one minor blemishes above the right forestock checkering panel (see closeup photo). The checkering is crisp and unblemished. The stock finish was worn in a few places when this rifle came to us. The original finish has been retained, but the worn areas have been professionally restored and the restored stock looks fantastic. The original rust bluing is excellent with slight edge wear and a few light scratches, but no major blemishes. There are no gouges, pits dings or other metal damages. The bolt is appropriately jeweled and serial number matched to the rifle. The bore of the 24" barrel is bright with strong rifling. Under the sight hood is the correct Redfield gold bead sight, which is unique to the Super Grade rifle. The underside barrel stamp has the correct "SUPER" roll stamp, adjacent to the chamber stamp. The rifle is mechanically sound with no evident problems.
In our estimation, this is a genuine factory Super Grade rifle which has seen careful use, but no abuse. We have graded the bluing excellent at 95% and grade the stock in appropriately similar condition.
