This is a 1937 rifle chambered in .30-06. The rifle retains its original factory finishes in NRA very good condition. The receiver and bolt are both marked with serial number 10570, indicating a 1937 manufacture date.

Because of its early manufacture date, this rifle features the highly sought after Carbonia rust-blue finish.  This, in combination with the early serial number, make it a highly collectible rifle.

The stock shows some wear from years of use, but is well cared for with no cracks, splits, oil stains, or other notable damage.  It shows minor dings from normal use and handling wear, but the original finish is intact, and overall it rates in very good condition.  The checkering is worn but original, with no major blemishes.  The stock retains its original steel buttplate with an even, brown patina.

The metal is all original factory bluing in very good to excellent condition.  There is minimal edgewear and no rubs, pitting, or other notable damage.  There is 1 small scratch near the receiver site.  The receiver has one 6-48 hole drilled in the rear bridge for a scope mount, and it appears to be correctly located for a Redfield JR scope base.

The bore of the 24" barrel shows almost no use, no pitting, erosion, fouling or other issues.  It grades a 9 out of 10.  Borescope verified.
