This is a .30-06 standard rifle produced in 1942. It is in NRA very good condition.
This rifle has what appears to be original bluing on the receiver and barrel, the bottom metal appears to be refinished. There are a series of scratches on the right side of the barrel and wear on the muzzle.
The bore of the 24" barrel is in very good condition and grades an 8 out of 10; borescope verified. There is almost no wear but some light pitting throughout the length of the bore.
The stock has been refinished and is in very good condition. The are several light marks in the wood from handling and use, but no notable cracks, damage or repairs. The steel buttplate has been refinished; the bluing is in very good condition. The checkering is crisp, in very good condition and with no notable blemishes.
The rear bridge on the receiver remains undrilled and the bolt is serial number matched to the receiver. This is a proper and cataloged Winchester configuration. The left side of the front receiver ring has been engraved with "SS 37".
