This is an all original and very clean .30-06 standard rifle made in 1961. The rifle shows some light honest wear, but has no damage and retains all original finishes with no modifications. Overall condition for this rifle grades at NRA very good.
The metal finishes are very good throughout, with bluing grading at 90% with edge and muzzle wear, but no abnormal rums or noteworthy blemishes. The bottom metal shows light thinning of the bluing, but no metal damage and no noteworthy finish blemishes. The action and bore are in excellent condition and grade as NRA excellent. The bolt is correct to the action, with serial number present and matched to the receiver. The rear sight is a Lyman replacement sight, but the rifle is otherwise 100% original. The stock is a particularly dark piece of American walnut, given the late production year, with some light handling marks, but no chips or cracks. The checkering remains sharp and has not been sanded or recut. The factory buttplate remains. Original swivels are present.
