The Bull Gun is a unique and hard-to-find model 70 configuration. Designed to compete for the Wimbledon Cup in 1000 yard matches at Camp Perry. The Bull gun is specifically designed for ultra-long-range accuracy.  Bull guns are in the marksman / target rifle design, but with a heavier and longer barrel than a target rifle. The legendary sniper Carlos Hathcock took the Wimbledon Cup in 1965 using a Winchester model 70 bull gun.

Just 2,706 bull guns were produced - 0.47% of pre-64 model 70 production.

This bull gun is chambered in .300 H&H Magnum and fitted with the largest factory barrel Winchester every produced - the massive "extra heavy" contour finished at 28-inchs.

This rifle was produced in 1958 and grades in NRA excellent condition.

PLEASE NOTE: After this rifle was photographed, we installed a correct Lyman 48 WH rear sight and Lyman 77 globe front sight.

The metal grades at 98%+ with all original bluing and no notable blemishes. There no noted edge wear, rubs or other finish loss.  There is a faint impression in the bluing where scope and sight blocks were installed, but there are no scratches, pitting, notable rubs or other issues in the metal or finishes.

The target style stock retains its original finish and steel buttplate. There are some light handling marks as seen in the photos, but no gouges, chips, cracks, stains, finish loss or other issues. The stock is not bedded or otherwise modified.

The bore of the 28" barrel is excellent, approaching perfect. There is no noted wear, erosion or pits and just light copper fouling.  It grades a 9 out of 10 under borescope inspection.

All parts are correct and appear to be original to the rifle. The bolt is serial number matched to the receiver.

NOTE: This rifle must be shipped to an FFL or C&R holder who can complete the transfer. If needed, we are happy to assist you in locating an FFL holder near you who receive and transfer the rifle to you.  International shipping is available.  Please contact us for details.
