This is an early .308 Winchester Featherweight rifle, produced in 1953 (2nd year of production). This rifle grades in NRA excellent condition.
The original bluing is near perfect with only a few very slight blemishes. The bore of the 22" barrel is bright with strong rifling and no condition issues. The stock has been restored but is otherwise unmodified. There are no handling marks, gouges, cracks, oil stains or other problems. The factory aluminum buttplate is intact with some light finish wear at the heel. There checkering is crisp and unblemished.
As an early featherweight, this rifle has the integral sight ramp and type-II bolt (undrilled knob), which are both unique to these earliest of Featherweight rifles. The bolt is serial numbered to the rifle
