This is an early .308 Winchester Featherweight rifle, produced in 1953 (2nd year of production). This rifle grades in NRA very good condition.
This rifle has all original bluing, grading at 90%, and the metal is in very good condition. There are light scratches in the barrel and bottom metal and edge wear on the receiver. The bolt handle has notable wear in the bluing.
The bore of the 22" barrel has almost no throat wear but has enough pitting to grade a 7 out of 10. Borescope verified.
The refinished stock is in very good condition. There are light signs of wear but no significant gouges, dents, or cracks. There is an older repair, in the barrel channel just ahead of the receiver on the left side where a small piece of wood has been sliced into the stock - see photos. The checkering is original with some flattening. The factory aluminum buttplate is also intact and in very good condition, with just some light finish wear.
The bolt is correct and serial number matched to the rifle
