This is a rare .338 Winchester Magnum sightless model 70 rifle produced in 1961. The receiver and bolt are both marked with serial number 518579. The rifle is in NRA excellent condition.
The original bluing on this rifle grades at 98%, showing almost no wear, the notable exception being slight wear on the extractor ring and the receiver rails. The trigger guard has a series of very shallow scratches, but the floor plate is nearly flawless. There are no dings or other damage in the metal.
The bore has no wear or pitting, resulting in a rating of 10 out of 10. Borescope verified.
The Monte Carlo stock has an original finish. It has two or three small handling marks but no gouges, cracks, dents, oil stains, or other damage. The original checkering is clean and crisp without any flat spots or dings. The original recoil pad is in excellent condition.
