This .338 Win Mag "Alaskan" Sporter rifle was produced in 1961. The rifle grades in NRA excellent condition.
The original bluing is excellent at 95%+ with the only notable wear being on the bolt knob and at the muzzle. There is no noted edge wear, rubs, scratches, gouges, pits or other problems with the metal or finish.
The stock is in excellent and original condition. There are no cracks or stains or other noted blemishes. The checkering is original and crisp. The original Winchester recoil pad is present with no damage. The stock has not been bedded or otherwise modified.
The bore of the 25" barrel is excellent, grading an 8 out of 10 wit no erosion or pitting. The rifle configuration is correct and all parts appear to be original to the rifle. The bolt shaft has been polished and the serial number is difficult to read, but does appear to be correct and matched to the receiver.
