This is a superb and all original 1955 Featherweight rifle in the hard to find .358 Winchester chambering. The rifle retains original factory finishes in overall NRA excellent condition.
The stock is in NRA perfect condition with absolutely no blemishes, handling marks, stains cracks or any other notes problems. The original finish is perfect and the checkering is crisp with no wear or blemishes. The stock is unmodified and retains its original aluminum buttplate with no visible wear. The original bluing is beautiful at better than 97% with very light edge wear on the receiver and at the muzzle. There is one light scratch on the right side of the barrel near the rear sight and a few very minor freckles in the bluing near the front sight. There are no other notable scratches or blemishes in the metal. The floor plate very slight fading. No tool marks or blemishes are noted. The bore of the 22" barrel is perfect with no evident wear, pits, throat erosion, fouling or other issues - it easily grades a 9.5 out of 10. The bolt is serial number matched to the receiver and the rifle is mechanically perfect with no evident problems. All correct .358 action parts are present. We assess this rifle as 100% original, configuration correct and in NRA excellent, approaching perfect condition.
The rifle came out of a northeast estate.
