This is a .375 H&H Magnum rifle custom built by Jim Cloward on a 1951 model 70 H&H (Long Magnum) action serial number 182592. The rifle includes two stocks, one wood and one synthetic. The rifle has custom features including a modified bolt release lever and Allen head action screws. There are no sights on the rifle.
The bluing on this rifle grades at 95% and the metal is in excellent condition. The bluing is dark, with almost no wear. There are no notable scratches, dings, or other metal defects.
The bore of the 26" custom barrel has almost no throat wear but does have a few scattered shallow pits resulting in a rating of 9 out of 10 under borescope inspection. The barrel is ported with a total of four slots.
The fine walnut stock is superbly shaped with a large cheek rest and made from an outstanding and highly figured piece of French walnut, fitted with a Pachmayr pad. The finish is smooth and unblemished, with no dents, cracks, gouges, stains, or other notable blemishes. Also included is a Pacific Research carbon fiber field stock, bedded to the action by Cloward. Both stocks have a 13&3/4" length of pull.
All parts are correct and appear to be original to the Cloward build, including the bolt which is serial matched to the rifle.
