This beautiful .375 H&H model 70 Super Grade rifle was produced in 1949. This is a fully restored rifle which includes a Paul Jaeger side scope mount with a Hensoldt-Wetzlar Ziel-Dialyt 2&3/4 power scope. The receiver is marked with serial number 113335; the bolt is also marked, but faintly. The rifle grades in NRA excellent (refinished) condition.
The bore of the 25" medium contour barrel has very little wear but has pitting in the first few inches in front of the chamber; we rate it a 7 out of 10. Borescope verified.
The original Monte Carlo stock is fitted with what appears to be an original factory recoil pad. The stock was refinished by the Pre64 team and is nearly flawless. There was a crack in the recoil lug area that has been repaired by drilling out the crack and injecting epoxy; the repair is solid. There are no other repairs or modifications to the stock. The checkering is also nearly flawless and is crisp and clean.
The metal was re-blued by the Pre64 team and is excellent condition. There are a very few, very small, spots of freckling that show through the new finish, notably on the rear sight, the bolt handle, and barrel.
The scope has some notable wear and pitting but is still fully functional, the adjustments move freely and the glass is clear.
