The rifle was produced in 1941in the third most rare model 7 chambering - 7MM (7MMx57 Mauser). Just a faction of a percent of model 70s were chambered in this cartridge. The rifle grades in NRA very good to excellent condition.
The metal is in very good to excellent condition with an original factory finish, no notable blemishes and very little bluing wear. There are a few light scratches on the bottom metal and the barrel. The cloverleaf receiver is undrilled.
The stock is original to the rifle but may have been rubbed out or overcoated at some point. There are a few light dings and scratches but no repairs, splits, cracks or other notable damage. The stock retains its steel buttplate, which has minor wear but no major pitting or scratches.
The bore of the 24" barrel is in excellent condition. The rifling is sharp; there is very minimal wear and no notable pitting. It grades at 9 out of 10 under borescope examination. All parts appear orignal and there are no signs of modification or non-factory work. The receiver and the bolt are both marked with serial number 37169.
