This stock is originally from a standard rifle produced between 1948 and 1950. It will fit all standard rifles made between 1948 and 1963, other than the H&H magnum and .458 magnum chamberings. This stock has been modified in the following ways:
- The addition of a cheek rest
- A notch cut for a receiver sight, and then later filled
- Bedding, now removed
- Shortened slightly, and the original steel butt plate re-installed
This stock has likely been refinished, though not in the pre64win shop. The finish is in very good condition, with a few light handling marks. The checkering also remains in good condition with no major blemishes. There is a small slice of wood missing on the underside of the stock where the trigger guard and floor plate meet. Please see photos. This could be covered by using custom one-piece bottom metal.
