This stock is originally from a standard rifle produced between 1948 and 1960. It has been modified in several ways:

The barrel channel has been opened up significantly to a custom contour
A solid black plastic grip cap has been added
It is equipped with a vented Pachmayr recoil pad
The front checkering panels have been removed

This stock is in very good condition with no structural damage such as cracks, splits or chips. It has been refinished at some point in the past, but not in the pre64win shop. This finish remains in excellent condition with a few light handling marks. The wood has dark stains adjacent to the recoil pad, which likely means the original steel buttplate rusted on the stock, staining the wood. The length of pull remains standard, at 13-5/8".
