This stock is originally from a standard rifle produced between 1950 and 1958.  It will fit all standard rifles made between 1948 and 1963, other than the H&H magnum and .458 magnum chamberings.  It has been professionally refinished in the pre64win shop.
The stock presents in excellent refinished condition with no cracks, splits, dents, or past repairs.  It has not been bedded, shortened, or otherwise modified aside from the new finish.  A small piece of wood has been removed from inside the barrel channel in the location of the front swivel.  It's not clear why this was done, but it shouldn't impact the structural integrity of the stock.  Please see photos.
The new finish on this stock is in perfect condition with no scratches, scuffs or handling marks.  The original steel buttplate has been reblued, with a few tiny imperfections and freckling visible beneath the bluing.  The checkering remains in good condition with no major blemishes but some minor flat spots.  The only notable cosmetic flaw to the stock is immediately adjacent to the buttplate, where the wood is stained very dark.  At some point in the past the rifle was likely stored standing on its buttplate, allowing moisture to contact the steel plate, leading to rust.  Although dark, the stained area is very small and adds a rustic touch to this beautiful stock.
