This stock is originally from a .300 H&H magnum rifle produced between 1951 and 1961. The magazine well is long enough to accommodate an H&H action but can also be used for a standard action.
The barrel channel has been opened up to a custom contour. It is nearly large enough to receive a bull barrel, and could be opened slightly more for that purpose.
This stock is in great condition with one major exception: there is a large gouge taken out of the wood inside the barrel channel, around the forearm barrel screw. This stock will need to be bedded in order to fill this space. Please see photos. Otherwise, there are no cracks, chips, gouges, or past repairs to the stock. The checkering is clean and unblemished.
The factory finish has been completely removed from this stock. There are some subtle oil stains in the wood, and it will look best if stained and refinished. It is equipped with a 1" Pachmayr vented recoil pad in like-new condition. The length of pull is 13-3/4 inches.
