This is a nice .22 Hornet standard rifle produced in 1941. The rifle has factory finishes on the metal and a refinished stock. There is a single extra hole drilled in the rear receiver bridge. The rifle grades in NRA very good condition.
The refinished low-comb stock is unmodified with the original steel butt plate. There are no notable dings, scratches, cracks, splits, or other defects or signs of wear. The butt plate has been reblued. The checkering remains well defined with minor flattening but no major defects.
The original Winchester bluing of the rifle is about 90%-95%, with some edge wear and a few light blemishes from honest use. The floor plate has edge wear and few light scratches in the finish and the trigger guard also has light edge wear. The bore of the 24" CMS steel barrel has almost no wear but enough pitting to reduce the rating to a 7 out of 10. The bolt is serial number matched to the rifle and all original Hornet parts are present.
