This is a .220 Swift target rifle produced in 1948.  This rifle is a properly configured "No. 2" target rifle, with a Lyman 48 WH 60-point receiver sight and globe style front sight. The rifle is also fitted with Redfield style scope blocks and a period-correct steel Timney target trigger.

The rifle presents in all factory-original finishes and grades in NRA very good condition.

The original bluing on the rifle is very nice grading at better than 90% with light edge wear and some general thinning of the receiver bluing. The trigger guard has the only notable bluing loss on the rifle. The bore of the 26" stainless barrel is outstanding under the borescope, with absolutely no pitting or throat erosion. here is light wear of the lands in the first 8-10 inches of the bore, which otherwise is nearly perfect. We grade the bore an 8 out of 10. The vintage Timney target trigger is period-correct and properly tuned with a 2-lb pull weight, a consistent sear drop, and no creep or unwanted overtravel.  All other parts are original and correct for the period and chambering. The bolt is correct and serial number matched to the receiver.

The stock is retains its factory finish in very good condition with a few light handling marks, but no damage.  The stock has not been shortened, bedded or otherwise modified and retains its original steel buttplate. The correct 1.25" target swivels and hand stop are present.

There are a couple add-ons on this rifle which are not from the Winchester factory. These include the Redfield scope blocks and Timney trigger. We are happy to change these items back to the original Winchester parts at the buyer's request.

NOTE: This rifle must be shipped to an FFL or C&R holder who can complete the transfer. If needed, we are happy to assist you in locating an FFL holder near you who can receive and transfer the rifle to you.
