This .270 Win standard rifle was produced in 1951 - the heyday of model 70 production. This is a very nice rifle in original factory-original finishes and no modifications. It grades in NRA very good approaching excellent condition. This is a fantastic collectible rifle.
The stock retains its factory finish in very good condition. The stock has not been bedded, shortened or otherwise modified, and the factory steel buttplate is present. There are a few very light handling marks in the wood as seen in the photos, but very little wear on the original finish and no cracks, gouges, or stains in the wood. The checkering is sharp with no problems. The original bluing is 98%+ with virtually no edge wear and just a few very minor scratches and freckles. There is a light mark in the bluing of the receiver left from a prior scope mount, but there are no rubs, notable scratches or other blemishes. There is no visible bluing wear on the steel buttplate or bottom metal. The bore of the 24" barrel is bright with strong rifling. The bolt is serial number matched to the action.
