This is a .30-06 target rifle produced in 1956. This rifle is in nearly new condition and includes hang tags. It is possible this rifle has never been fired, although it shows some handling or storage wear as noted below.
The metal is in excellent condition and the bluing grades at 98% plus. Ther is no noted finish wear on the 24" barrel. There is light bluing wear on the guide areas of the receiver where the bolt lugs contact the guides. The extractor ring shows some bluing wear from bolt cycling, but no other wear of the bluing is noted. The bottom metal is in near perfect condition.
The bore of the 24" barrel has no notable wear or pitting under borescope examination. We grade the bore a 9+ out of 10.
The original finish on the stock is in very good condition, but unfortunately has some handling marks from storage. There are a couple light scratches on the left side in the wrist area, and a ding in the forward part of the comb (slightly less than dime sized). The stock has not been shortened or otherwise modified and retains its original steel buttplate in near perfect condition.
This rifle appears to be 100% original with all factory parts correct and present. The bolt is correct and serial number matched to the receiver. The correct 1.25" target swivels and hand-stop are present.
NOTE: This rifle must be shipped to an FFL or C&R holder who can complete the transfer. If needed, we are happy to assist you in locating an FFL holder near you who can receive and transfer the rifle to you.
