This is a beautiful example of a .30-06 Featherweight rifle. The receiver is numbered 579602, indicating a 1963 manufacture date and making this rifle one of the last to be produced in the pre-64 series. The rifle is in NRA excellent condition. The bolt is correct and serial number matched to the rifle.
The bluing on this rifle grades at 95%, showing a few light rubs, and some wear and handling marks on the aluminum bottom metal.
The bore contains no erosion, in fact it's hard to prove this rifle was ever fired, but it does have notable pitting, reducing the rating to 7 out of 10. Boroscope verified.
This stock has great color and is nicely grained, with no significant gouges, cracks, dents, or oil stains. It does have handling marks and there is also a blemish on the butt. The checkering is particularly clean and crisp, making for an overall very attractive stock. The hard rubber butt plate also is in very good condition.
