This is a rare .30-06 Springfield sightless standard model 70 rifle produced in late 1960. The receiver and bolt are both marked with serial number 502335. The rifle is in NRA excellent (like new, near perfect) condition.
The original bluing on this rifle grades at 98%, showing almost no wear, the notable exception being slight wear on the extractor ring and the receiver rails. The bottom metal is nearly flawless. There are no dings or other damage in the metal.
The rifle is possibly unfired. The bore has no signs of wear or other damage, resulting in a rating of 10 out of 10. Borescope verified.
The Monte Carlo stock has an original finish and is essentially flawless. There are no gouges, cracks, dents, oil stains, or even significant handling marks. The original checkering is clean and crisp without any flat spots or dings. The hard rubber butt plate is in excellent condition with a minor scuff.
