This model 70 rifle is chambered in .30-06. The receiver and bolt are both marked with serial number 265594, indicating a 1953 manufacture date. Overall, this rifle appears to have been seen some honest use but is still a good representative sample of the iconic model. This rifle grades in NRA very good condition.
The stock shows wear in the form of light scratches and scuffs and shallow dings, but no cracks, splits, modifications, or repairs. The original checkering has some wear and a few flat spots. It retains its original finish and steel buttplate.
The metal parts appear to be original and in very good condition with some notable wear and fading, but no freckling or other damage.
This barrel shows some light wear, heat cracking near the chamber, and shallow pitting. It rates a 7 out of 10. Borescope verified.
