This is a .30-06 standard rifle with original finishes, grading in NRA excellent condition.  It is serial number marked 410648, indicating a 1957 manufacture date. During this time period, the low comb stocks were becoming less common, in favor of the Monte Carlo stocks that were designed for use with a scope. This rifle is the low comb variety, correctly paired with a Winchester 22K rear sight.

The metal finishes on this rifle are superb, grading at 95%.  There is almost no muzzle wear, fading, scratches, or other blemishes to the barrel bluing.  There are just a few light scuffs to the sight hood, and some thinning of the bluing on the bolt knob and a little on the receiver.  The bottom metal is nearly perfect, with very slight edgewear.

The 24" barrel has just a couple small shallow pits, and very minimal throat wear.  Overall this bore rates a 9 out of 10 with borescope inspection.

The stock retains its original finish with a few touch-ups.  It has minor handling marks -- light scratches and dings -- but no cracks splits, chips or repairs.  The checkering is quite crisp and clean.  The stock retains the original steel buttplate with almost no bluing loss.  The only modification is the addition of quick-release sling swivels.
