This is a 1961 Model 70 Standard rifle chambered in .30-06 Springfield. The receiver and bolt are both marked with serial number 544894, indicating a 1961 manufacturing date.
The Monte Carlo stock retains its factory finish and hard rubber buttplate. The finish has a very few minor handling marks and there is one small ding along the left side of the receiver., There are no other significant dents, cracks, repairs, or other damage. The checkering is clean and crisp and the buttplate is in good condition.
The metal finishes are in excellent condition, all original, with some very minor wear on the extractor ring and the receiver rails. There is some minor freckling on the bolt handle. The are no significant dings, scratches, repairs or other damage to the metal.
The bore of the 24" barrel has no throat wear, pitting, or other wear or damage. We rate it as a 10 out of 10 under borescope evaluation.
