This is a beautiful Type-III-1 Super Grade rifle chambered in .30-06 and produced in 1949. The rifle retains all original factory finishes with no modifications or notable blemishes. It grades in NRA excellent condition.
The original bluing is excellent and grades at 95% with just slight edge wear on the bottom metal and some bluing loss on the buttplate, but no other notable wear or blemishes anywhere on the rifle. The bore of the 24" barrel is excellent with no pitting, erosion or notable wear.
The stock is in excellent condition with the original finish showing just light handling wear. There are no cracks, stains gouges or other noteworthy blemishes in the stock. , and just a couple very faint storage marks. The checkering is original and unblemished. The original steel buttplate is intact with some bluing loss.
The rifle is mechanically sound with no evident problems. All parts are correct for the factory configuration and appear original to the rifle. and bolt is serial number matched to the rifle. The front sight is the correct Redfield #254 sheared gold sight. The rear sight is the Winchester 22G sight. It is our assessment this is a genuine factory Super Grade rifle, in factory original finishes in excellent condition.
