This is a .30-06 standard rifle produced in 1941. It is a very nice rifle grading in NRA very good condition.
This rifle features the Lyman 48 WJS receiver sight and proper Lyman 12S sight slot blank in the rear sight dovetail. This is a proper and cataloged Winchester configuration and the rifle appears to be completely original.
The factory bluing is excellent, grading at 95% with no notable edge wear, rubs scratches, or other blemishes. The bottom metal is worse than the balance of the rifle with some wear on the floorplate and a dull patina on the trigger guard. There is a small dimple into the bridge (see photos). The bore of the 24" barrel is very good and grades a 7 out of 10 with the borescope. There is no problematic pitting, erosion, or heat cracking. The stock has a vintage refinish which is attractive but not original. The factory steel buttplate is intact and shows moderate bluing wear. There are no cracks or stains in the wood. The checkering is crisp with no notable blemishes. There are a few minor handling marks as seen in the photos, but no gouges, chips or other notable blemishes.
All parts appear original to this rifle and the bolt is serial number matched to the receiver.
