This is a .300 H&H Magnum rifle produced in 1958. This rifle came to us with the front sight ramp removed; we re-soldered the ramp and that necessitated re-bluing the barrel. All other parts are correct and appear to be original to the rifle, in their original condition. The bolt and receiver are both marked with serial number 437474.
As previously noted, the barrel has been re-blued and is in near-perfect condition. The remainder of the bluing rates at 90% or better. There is some bluing wear on the bolt components. There is a small spot of freckling on the floorplate but no other rust, scratches, or other damage.
The Monte Carlo stock has an original finish and is in very good condition with some scuffs and handling marks but no significant dings, splits, or stains. The checkering is in excellent condition. The steel butt plate has some worn diamonds.
The bore of the 26" barrel is in excellent condition with almost no throat wear and just a few shallow pits, rating a 9 out of 10. Borescope verified.
