This is a rare .300 Savage standard model 70 rifle produced in 1947. The receiver and bolt are both marked with serial number 73489. The rifle is in NRA excellent condition.  

The original bluing on this rifle grades at 95%, showing almost no wear, the notable exception being slight wear on the bolt components, the edges of the floor plate, and the receiver rails. The bolt handle is smoother and more polished than normal; it appears to have been polished. There are no other dings, damage, or repairs in the metal.

The bore has almost no wear and a very few shallow pits, resulting in a rating of 9 out of 10. Borescope verified.  

The low comb stock has an original finish in excellent condition. It has almost no handling marks and no gouges, cracks, dents, oil stains, or other damage. The original checkering is clean and crisp without any flat spots or dings. The original steel butt plate is in excellent condition.
