This is a very early .308 Winchester Featherweight rifle, produced in 1953 (2nd year of production). This rifle is 100% original, with factory finishes and parts. It grades in NRA very good, approaching excellent condition.
The stock retains the original factory finish in very good condition, with light finish loss in a few places. The wood has a few light handling marks, but no gouges cracks, oil stains or other problems. The factory aluminum buttplate is intact with some light finish wear at the heel. There checkering is crisp and unblemished. The original bluing is near perfect with only a few very slight blemishes. The bore of the 22" barrel is bright with strong rifling and no condition issues.
As an early featherweight, this rifle has the integral sight ramp and type-II bolt (undrilled knob), which are both unique to these earliest of Featherweight rifles. The bolt is serial numbered to the rifle
