This is a Type-III bolt housing with a face for standard cartridges. The handle appears to have been filed slightly where it meets the bolt body - see pictures. This filing is minimal and would not be noticed by a casual observer when the rifle is assembled.
Handle bluing - The bluing is in very good condition, generally dark and even, with a little light wear.
Metal - Aside from the previously mentioned filing of the handle, the metal is excellent condition with no damage or modifications. The serial number is still visible.
We use the NRA Modern Gun Condition Standards Grading System for grading part conditions. You can read about it HERE
NOTE: While model 70 bolts may appear to be interchangeable, to safely replace the bolt in a rifle requires the action to be checked for proper headspacing and lug seating. This is a simple procedure which can be performed in a matter of minutes by a qualified gunsmith.
