This is a type-II bolt housing for standard caliber rifles. This bolt has been jeweled and the handle has been ground for scope clearance.
Handle bluing - Reblued - This bolt handle has been polished and reblued; it has an even dark finish with very little wear.
Metal - This bolt is in very good overall condition. The handle has been ground to accommodate a scope, but the work was well done. There are no notable scratches, nicks, or other marks of damage on the bolt shaft or face.
We use the NRA Modern Gun Condition Standards Grading System for grading part conditions. You can read about it HERE
NOTE: While model 70 bolts may appear to be interchangeable, to safely replace the bolt in a rifle requires the action to be checked for proper headspacing and lug seating. This is a simple procedure which can be performed in a matter of minutes by a qualified gunsmith.
