This is a type-III bolt housing for standard caliber rifles.
Handle bluing - 98% - This bolt handle has been reblued. The new bluing on this bolt handle shows almost no signs of wear.
Metal - This bolt is in excellent overall condition. There are no notable scratches, nicks, or other marks of damage on the bolt shaft or face. The bolt knob has been modified with a slightly flattened contour on the outer face. This may have been done to clear a scope, or possibly for style reasons.
We use the NRA Modern Gun Condition Standards Grading System for grading part conditions. You can read about it HERE
NOTE: While model 70 bolts may appear to be interchangeable, to safely replace the bolt in a rifle requires the action to be checked for proper headspacing and lug seating. This is a simple procedure which can be performed in a matter of minutes by a qualified gunsmith.
