This stock came from a pre-war standard rifle produced between 1936 and 1948. It will fit any pre-war (cloverleaf tang) standard rifle except for the H&H Magnum and .458 Magnum chamberings.
This stock is structurally sound with no cracks, splits or gouges. It has been highly modified with many custom features. These include:
- The stock has been slenderized and reshaped.
- It has had the checkering re-cut after reshaping.
- It has been refinished after the reshaping and checkering.
- The factory buttplate has been replaced by a 12" Pachmayr recoil pad.
- The stock has been notched for a receiver sight, and slightly lowered along the left side for the use of a Griffen and Howe side-mount scope base.
