This is a standard steel floor plate from a Winchester Model 70 rifle. The underside shows the signature triangle-dash proof mark of a pre-war floor plate. The bluing is a softer gray-black color, which could indicate that it's rust-blued, which was standard between 1936 and 1939. However, we can't say for sure whether it's rust-blue or black oxide.
Bluing - 70% - This floor plate retains its original factory finish. It shows significant wear in the form of scratches, scuffs, edgewear, and light surface freckling. There are no deep scratches, dents, gouges or pits.
Metal - The metal remains in very good condition with a few scratches and dings.
