This is a standard steel floor plate from a Winchester Model 70 rifle. It appears to have been refinished, though not in the pre64win shop.
Bluing - Refinished. The bluing on this floor plate is soft-black in color with a silky texture. The look is similar to rust-bluing, but we cannot confirm what the finish is. There are no scratches, edgewear or fading to the finish. There are a few areas of slight color inconsistency.
Metal - The metal is in very good condition, with some small scratches and dings that remain visible underneath the new finish.
