The Lyman 48 WH was delivered on marksman, national match and bull rifles from the factory, when the rifle was ordered with a receiver sight (the Lyman 48 WJS was delivered on standard rifles).
This is an early style sight (pre-1947) with a full block that requires inletting in the side of the stock to accommodate the mounting block. The slide and base are not number matched. This sight has target turrets, a long 125-point scale, and micrometer adjustments. The extra large aperture and mounting screws are included.
This receiver sight remains in excellent condition with almost no finish wear. There are some pinprick freckles on the front and sides of the slide.
