This is a matching receiver and bolt body pair from a 1948 standard rifle. Both pieces are marked with the serial number 100540. This is a "transition era" receiver with the cloverleaf tang found on the pre-war model combined with the smooth, and drilled, rear bridge of the later models.
Receiver - The original finish has notable wear and thinning. There is some surface rust/discoloration on the front ring and recoil lug.
Bolt - The bolt has significant bluing wear on the handle and some shallow pits. It appears the bolt handle, near the base, on the back side, was ground/filed - see pictures.
We use the NRA Modern Gun Condition Standards Grading System for grading part conditions. You can read about it HERE
NOTE: Laws governing transfer of firearms require that receivers be shipped to an FFL holder. If you do not hold an FFL or C&R license, you will need to enlist the services of an FFL to complete the transfer. If needed, we are happy to assist you in locating an FFL holder near you who can complete the transfer on your end.
