This is a matching receiver and bolt body pair from a 1947 standard rifle, a transition model. This receiver has the cloverleaf tang associated with the early model receivers and the rear bridge used in later models. Both pieces are marked with the serial number 74407. Both the receiver and bolt body have the original finish.
Receiver - Overall, this receiver is in very good to excellent condition. The bluing is original, dark, even, and consistent, showing minimal signs of wear on the rails, in the tang area, and where a receiver sight would have been mounted. There are some small scratches on the inner surfaces, but no significant nicks or other forms of metal damage on the receiver. The are no other modifications to the piece.
Bolt Body - The bolt body is in very good to excellent condition. The bolt handle has a small rubbed spot on the underside, but neither it or the body has any significant scratches, nicks, or other forms of metal damage on the piece.

NOTE: Laws governing transfer of firearms require that receivers be shipped to an FFL holder. If you do not hold an FFL or C&R license, you will need to enlist the services of an FFL to complete the transfer. If needed, we are happy to assist you in locating an FFL holder near you who can complete the transfer on your end.
