This is a matching receiver and bolt body pair from a 1954 standard rifle.  Both pieces are marked with the serial number 305868. The receiver and bolt handle have been re-blued here in the Pre-64 shop using the slow rust bluing method (instead of the more common hot caustic method, used on all parts in later production). This bluing method results in a softer appearance; it has a silvery, satin sheen.

The metal and new bluing is in excellent condition, without any notable defects or damage. There are no extra holes or modifications to the receiver.

We use the NRA Modern Gun Condition Standards Grading System for grading part conditions. You can read about it HERE

NOTE: Laws governing transfer of firearms require that receivers be shipped to an FFL holder. If you do not hold an FFL or C&R license, you will need to enlist the services of an FFL to complete the transfer. If needed, we are happy to assist you in locating an FFL holder near you who can complete the transfer on your end.
