This is a unique receiver; a transition model, having the cloverleaf tang and an undrilled, smooth rear bridge, and also having the clip loading slot. This configuration was only found on target rifles (National Match, Target Model, Bull gun) made in 1948. The receiver and bolt are both marked with the serial number 87157, indicating a 1948 manufacture date.
Receiver - Overall, this receiver is in excellent condition. The receiver bluing is original; showing minimal signs of wear on the rails and in the tang area. There are light marks in the finish from a receiver sight. There are no notable scratches, dings or other metal damage. There are no holes or modifications to the receiver.
Bolt Body - The bolt body is in very good condition. The bluing shows slight wear on the bolt handle and there is some surface wear in the grained finish on the bolt shaft, but no noted dimensional or other adverse wear.

NOTE: Laws governing transfer of firearms require that receivers be shipped to an FFL holder. If you do not hold an FFL or C&R license, you will need to enlist the services of an FFL to complete the transfer. If needed, we are happy to assist you in locating an FFL holder near you who can complete the transfer on your end.
